How do you curl your hair with a Straightener?

there are some straighteners that are made with a ovalish or squareish shape, those are the ones that work. or you can flat iron all your hair, and then go back with a curling iron. If you flat iron first, it'll make your hair more vulnirable to the curler and allow itself to bend n stuff.
