How do I curl my hair and keep it overnight?

i want to curl my hair for 6th grade graduation but I'm afraid it will come out bad with curlers in all night or a curling iron (which i've tried and it just makes my hair look puffy)

Graduation is in the morning and so i would have to do it the night before so I'm just wondering if a salon can curl your hair and if it will last through the night.

i do not want a perm because that lasts way to long. I dont know if salons can make it nice and last or if curlers come out nice. So if anyone has any advice thanks!

Heres two options of what i might want it to look like:

There's a technique called ';rag rolling';.

Firstly, wet your hair. Grab pieces of cloth that are around four times longer than your hair. Separate your hair into parts, as wide as you want the curls to be. Then tie a piece of cloth around a strand at the scalp so that one side of the cloth is the same length as your hair (so the other side should be much longer). Then wrap your strand of hair repeatedly around the hair-length side of the cloth. After that, grab the longer side and wrap it around OVER your hair on the hair-length side of the cloth, then tie the ends of the two sides of cloth together. You'll end up looking like you wrapped strands of your hair with cloth. Sleep on it and the next day - voila - long, gorgeous curls.

Another way...

Wrap your hair around anything that's light and cylindrical - if you're looking for big, long ringlets try those soft drink aluminum cans - make sure they're empty first! First wet hair. Then section hair into parts as wide as you want the curls to be and started wrapping. Clasp the wrapped hair with a bobby pin or clip. If you don't want to sleep in it - I don't - do it early in the morning on a weekend so no one will see you looking like that :) Then after about 8 or 9 hours, unclasp and unwrap.
try hot curlers for 20 minutes in the morning.

experiment a couple days before in advanced so it doesnt look like **** the day of your graduation
n this case you're probably going to need to use hot rollers. After applying the hot rollers to your entire head and allowing them to set, lightly brush the resulting curls and spray with hair spray to hold. You can also use standard hair rollers on damp hair or fashion your hair into pin curls using bobby pins and sit under a hair dryer until the hair is dry. Use hair spray to hold your new curls.
try this instead.

use GEL SPRAY. alllll over your head once your done curling it.

not just any spray but a GEL one.

then flip your head over and use a THIN THIN THIN rubber band and make a bun at the top of your head.

make sure its thin!!! or they will come out. make a messy bun at the very top front of your hair and add in more THIN bands if you need them.

GOOD LUCK :)
