Can anyone give me some tips on styling with a curling iron?

i just got a curling iron as a gift and i've never really used one before. My hair type is kind of curly but mostly wavy, thick, brown, and a bit life- less. i never use gel i have tried it before but it jst doesnt look right on me if you know what i mean lol. If you have any styles i could do for like school and stuff or any tips on how to use the curling iron i would love the advice. oh and one more thing is there anything wrong with using a curling iron alot on your hair i heard it can damage your hair with the heat and all. any advice can help with anything about wht i could do. thank you alotCan anyone give me some tips on styling with a curling iron?

And yes, it will damage your hair because of the heat, so I suggest using a spray or lotion to protect your hair.

one dayyyi have it all curls then straght then scrunched then curled with half a side up but the curls on teh day losser then the other day then flip out and make a hump thenflip either just curl the tips or flip it in either or i get braids on one side and curll teh rest thiers tons of diffrent styles
