So, my hair is really long (past me butt) and pin straight, and I really wanna curl it but whenever I use a curling iron the curls stay in for only around 2 - 3 minutes. I recently tried to curl my hair with a curling iron, and put hairspray in it while it was on the iron. It worked pretty well and the curls were gorgeous.
What I would like to know is, can this damage my hair?
If yes, then how often should I do it so it won't be that damaged? Once a week? Once every 2 weeks? Once a month?
All answers are greatly appreciated. :D
Oh yeah, and if you know a way I can make my hair look like this, please tell me. THANK YOU!!

hairspary in your curls is exactly what a hair dresser would do. it does not damage your hair anymore than curling it alone. the iron will heat up the hair spray and will keep the curl in longer.
another option is to donate your hair to locks of love so that kids who have to lose thier hari due to chemo or other treatments will be able to have a real hair wig.Does putting hairspray in your hair while curling, damage it? And how do I do this hairstyle? (pics included)?
i dont think so but if you need advice just cut it and blow dry it or use hot rollers
Simply curling it with a curler and then after adding hair spray.
Not while curling it.
get your hair cut shorter ... pass your bra strap (thats in the back) at least and just curl your hair in smaller section. if you dont want your hair to be that damage get a spray to protect your hair.... no it wont damage your hair if ur hairspraying it like that.... and about once a week is ok... but i must warn you over time it will get damaged if done too much... once a week at most and once a month is pefectly fine it gives it enough to to become healthy again and enough to give you a little diversity... even 2 times a month is ok.

dont try to do that hair style! please its really really really ugly! and trust me my aunt won an emmy for hair so hair styling runs in our family
I don't put hair spray in my hair while I'm curling it because it makes a sizzling sound which makes me feel like I'm frying my hair. Put it on your hair right after you curl each piece so the hair is still hot and it will stay in place better.
When i curl my hair%26amp;put hair spray in while curling it, it fries it.
so i hav 2 use this stuff from tresemme from its thermal creations collection. its protects against curling irons, blow dryers%26amp;straighteners, so i use that%26amp;then use hair spray after i make each curl.it stay pretty well.plus i use moose%26amp;a lot more things but those rnt important rite now.
you want the ribbon looking curls : )
dont spray hairspray in your hair while curling it hon..its a noble idea but it isnt gonna give you the best results..use a thermal spray (i use nexxus thermal spray..you can buy it at walmart) and then curl..after you release the hair from the curling iron spray with sebastian shaper hair spray and then when the whole project is done spray with john frieda freeze and shine on the curls (at the salon they spray it on the old lady's hair to make it last all week..but it doesnt smell like old lady)
you dont want to put hair spray on and then the heat..you want to put something to protect your hair first before applying the heat...the hairspray isnt what hurts your hair..its the heat on the wet hairspray..
