Ok so I am going to my papa's birthday bbq and I have seen most of my family from one side only once or twice in around 7 years. I want to do something different with my hair. I ALWAYS have my hair straight having it up mostly. I am 21 year's old and my birthday is less than two months and I have only tried using a curling iron once. When i was around 5~6 my mom was curling my hair, I wanted to ';feel the curl'; well I went and grabbed for it and got the curling iron instead. So you could say I've have had this great fear for them ever since. Well I'm coming outta my shell and would really like to have it curled. I tried my bf's sisters curlers but they didn't work out. Tried the iron and really got a hold of it. But I don't really know how to. Like start curling the bottom to the top or top to the bottom, do you section it off and do it that way or what?
I am going to use some hair products which are:
It's a 10 (detangler, heat protector, etc)
Boisilk (makes hair soft and silky)
thermasilk volumizing mouse
and sunsilk hair sprayHow do you curl your hair? Top to bottom or bottom to top?
For beginners, bottom to top would be easier - especially when curling your own hair.
Also, most people have trouble getting curls to stay - so don't overload your hair with products.
I wouldn not recommend using biosilk for curling your hair, (although it is a great product)- because it will weigh down your hair and you won't get the curled results.
Stick with a light misting of ';It's a 10'; before you curl.
Thoroughly spritz your hair with hairspray after your done curling it.
Another tip is to wash your hair the day before you curl your hair - not the day your doing it... (because your hair will be too soft and likely hold some moisture which will again cause the curls to fall out)How do you curl your hair? Top to bottom or bottom to top?
bottom to top
i would suggest u to get your own curling iron
(braun satin hair line)\]
i have it and its awesome
i juse use the tresemme heat defence leave-in and i curl my hair and WALLAHHH---super shiny and tight bouncy curls
I curl my hair bottom to top. I think you're less likely to burn your head this way since you have more control of the iron. I separate the top layer of hair with a comb and clip it out of the way and then curl the bottom first. To curl, just close the moving thingy (sorry, I don't know what it's called, but it's the thing that lifts on the hot part of the iron) on the tip of a section of your hair (make sure it's secure) and then roll it up, rolling your hair onto the iron. The size of the section of hair depends on how big or small you want the curl. Hold the iron there for about 5-10 seconds (depending on how thick your hair is) and then unroll the iron, releasing the hair. After curling the bottom layer, unclip the top layer and curl that. Be sure to hairspray all of the curls after curling your hair so it will stay. If you want to style your hair (ponytail, half ponytail, etc) and have curls, style your hair first and then curl it.
1. Take a small amount of dry hair
2. Take the curling iron and put it over the section of hair near the top.
3. Gently slide the iron down to the bottom of the hair so that only a very small amount sticks out from the clampy thing
4. roll the curling iron up the strand of hair (it is usually best to roll the iron under). Stop just before you get to your scalp if you want full curls, and half-way up if you want bottom end curls.
5. If you are scared, you can place a comb between the iron and your head.
6. Wait a while (this may take practice as everyone's hair is different).
7. Open and close the clamp gently a few times to loosen the curling iron from your hair, and pull it gently from the hair. This works best if you pull it out of the side of the curl rather than downward.
8. Repeat this until all hair is done.
9. for someone who doesn't have curly hair, you may not know this, but it is VERY important. Do not brush your hair once it is curled. Once all of the hair is curled, style gently by pulling fingers through the hair, and twisting or sculpting with fingers. Brushing will turn your hair into a fuzzy mess.
